The department is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including shake table laboratories, pseudo-dynamic testing laboratories, soil dynamics laboratories, foundation testing laboratories, and a seismological observatory. These facilities enable advanced research in structural dynamics, geotechnical earthquake engineering, seismic hazard assessment, and seismic instrumentation. The department has played a crucial role in developing India’s seismic design codes and guidelines and is committed to nurturing the next generation of earthquake engineers through rigorous postgraduate programs (M. and Ph.D.). The symposium invites researchers, practitioners, innovators, and students to delve into cutting-edge research areas that are shaping the future of seismic engineering solutions and earthquake-resilient infrastructure.
